Jonathan Lara

Nace en Maracaibo en 1986. Vive y trabaja en Maracaibo / Venezuela. Egresado de la Facultad Experimental de Arte de La Universidad del Zulia como Licenciado en Artes Plásticas Mención Pintura, trabaja como Asesor Artístico en la Dirección de Cultura de La Universidad del Zulia. Trabajó como Coordinador de Artes Visuales del Centro de Artes de Maracaibo y también miembro de la Fundación El Semillero y La Junta. Ha participado de manera colectiva e individual en exposiciones a nivel nacional e internacional desde el año 2006. Ganó el 1er premio del XIX Salón de Jóvenes con FIA 2016 y del 7º Salón de Jóvenes Artistas en 2011 y Mención de Honor en las ediciones del 2014, 2012 y 2008 MACZUL, Maracaibo.

PROCEDIMIENTOS ANÁLOGOS.

La analogía es un modo de entender de una manera directa el mundo de las formas y de las cosas, en cierto modo de los objetos, hasta convertirse en algo inexpresable si no es a través de nuevas cosas.

El gesto insistente y evocador de LARA lo encontramos en PROCEDIMIENTOS ANÁLOGOS.  Este proyecto de investigación-creación del artista se materializa en evidencias que en ocasiones tiene referentes tipológicos y en otras de procesos experimentales que dan paso a la obra como huella conectora, ahora también como activador del espacio-lugar.

En Prueba de artista y Negativo procedimiento, las operaciones de hacer y rehacer, acercamiento y distanciamiento hacen que el gesto y la mancha se conviertan en accidente sensible y sugestivo.  La impronta del artista establece vínculos visuales de narrativas evocadoras de aparente materialidad casual pero de sumo cuidado en el detalle.

Lugar equivalente, Levedad y Traspiés, nos muestran una nueva búsqueda y experimentación en representaciones y materiales. El artista de modo sosegado pero de propósito claro y firme activa el espacio – lugar permitiendo experimentar la obra como una construcción haptica.

Es así, que con los recursos de la creación donde el juego infinito de asociaciones y similitudes desembocan en cosas nuevas, Lara nos invita a la experiencia del ámbito análogo de los procedimientos del taller como evento perceptivo.

Born in Maracaibo 1986. Lives and work in Maracaibo / Venezuela. Graduated from the ‘Facultad Experimental de Arte de La Universidad del Zulia’ as University Degree in fine art (painting), work as Artistic Advisor at the Culture Direction From Zulia University. Worked as Coordinator of Visual Arts in Fine Arts Center of Maracaibo and also member of the “Fundación El Semillero” and La Junta.  Since 2006, Jonathan Lara have been participating in local and international collective and solo exhibitions. First prize at the “XIX Salón de Jóvenes con FIA” 2016 and the first prize at the “7º Salón de Jóvenes Artistas 2011” as well as honour mention in the 2014, 2012 and 2008 editions. ANALOGUES PROCEDURES.

                                                        Analogy is a ways to directly understand the world of shapes and things, somehow of objects, until it becomes something inexpressible if not through new things.

The insistent and evocative gesture of LARA can be found within ANALOGUES PROCEDURES. This investigation-creation project materializes in evidences that often have typological referents and some other times experimental processes that allow the work to become a connecting trace, and also as trigger of the space-place.

In PRUEBA DE ARTISTA and NEGATIVO PROCEDIMIENTO, the operations of making and remaking, approach and distancing make the stain to become in sensible and suggestive accident. The artist’s imprint set visual links of evocative narratives with apparent casual materiality but also with great attention on detail.

LUGAR  EQUIVALENTE, LEVEDAD  Y  TRASPIES,  show  us  a  new search and experimentation in representation  and materials.  The artist in a restful but in firm  and  clear way activates the space – place  allowing  experiencing the  artwork as a tactile construction.

That is how, with the resources of creation where the infinite game of association and similarities fall into new things, Lara invites us to the experience of the analogue scope of procedures from the workshop as perceptual event.
